WHY I BUILT THE FEEDBACK FLOW SYSTEM:

I built this system after realizing something uncomfortable: The problem wasn’t how much feedback I gave, it was when I gave it.

I spent years writing careful comments after assignments were finished. Students appreciated it… but rarely used it. And every week the same misunderstandings returned.

Eventually I asked a harder question: What if feedback is happening too late to change learning?

That question led me into research and classroom experimentation across subjects as an instructional coach, then as an international education consultant. What emerged wasn’t a collection of strategies, it was a shift in workflow.

When students learn to use criteria during learning, they begin generating feedback themselves. And when that happens, grading stops being an explanation task and becomes simply a quick moment of recognition.

For the past four years I’ve taught this same workflow to teachers across North America. Regardless of subject, the result is consistent:
